A hidden lounge for momentsbest kept off the record.
Tucked in the alley between the Hermanus Waterfront and Main Road — a coffee-to-cocktail lounge from Ingrid Louw & Anton van der Valk. Locally roasted coffee by day. A quiet drink as the light fades.
Worth getting lost for.
You won't spot it from Main Road. Off the Record waits at the end of an alleyway behind what locals still call Die Biltong Ou — a small, warm room you stumble into once and return to often. Comfortable chairs, low golden light, and the easy hum of people talking. No rush, no noise. Just good coffee and better conversation.

Made for easy conversation.
A stylish lounge for specialty coffee and bespoke beverages — and soon, creative cocktails. With only cocktail chairs and bar stools, curated music, and an intimate vibe, it's the place to escape the crowd and unwind.
Locally roasted Dawn Coffee, poured with care.
Cold-pressed juices and sparkling Cape teas.
Considered music, warm light, room to talk.
From the first espresso to the last light.
The evenings are coming.
Once the liquor licence lands, the lounge turns — cocktails, beer on tap, and tastings with the wine farms down the road.
A great place for a casual coffee or drink — with a stunning curated gift and décor shop. Drop by for something special, or just for the vibe.
We love this hidden gem. The staff run the shop with such care. I feel completely comfortable drinking a (delicious) coffee and reading a book here.
Super friendly staff and delicious coffee.

ILBespoke — a shop of South African craft.
Behind the lounge, Ingrid's curated store of South African makers — tableware, textiles, jewellery, and small treasures, some you won't find anywhere else in the Overberg.
